ACCI’s First Deputy to the Board of Directors Mr. Muhammad Younus Muhammad, Khan Jan Alokozay and Ziauddin Achakzay members to the board of directors met with traders and importers of groceries from the western part of the country and discussed their problems.
The traders and importers explained their problems as follow:
• High tariffs on some of the groceries in Islam Qala Custom
• Registering costs of the items in the Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) which has caused the detention of thousands of lorries on both sides of the border
• High costs of the items and basic needs inside the country
And asked the chairmanship of the ACCI to help provide legal solutions for their aforementioned problems.
Mr. Muhmand said, “ACCI is committed to increasing internal products and supporting legal commercial and economic activities in the country.”
He also asked the traders to share their problems in written form with the ACCI, so that ACCI in close coordination with the relevant organizations of the Afghanistan Islamic Emirates, put an end to their problems.
He, furthermore, spurs the traders and investors to invest inside the country so that Afghanistan can take considerable steps towards economic growth and self-sufficiency.
