Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), met with Mr. Damir Saryev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, to discuss strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on increasing trade between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, identifying new areas of economic cooperation, and promoting investment opportunities. They emphasized the importance of expanding economic partnerships, enhancing joint cooperation, and increasing the exchange of trade and investment delegations.
The two sides also stressed the need for closer collaboration between the chambers of commerce of both countries to facilitate trade, strengthen private sector relations, and create new opportunities for businesses and investors in Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mirajan Sulaimankhil, Mr. Faiz Ahmad Khwafi, and Mr. Enayatullah Siddiqzai, Deputy Chairmen of the ACCI Board of Directors, as well as Mr. Najabat Haidari and Mr. Sakhi Ahmad Noorzada, Members of the ACCI Board of Directors.
The meeting reflected the shared commitment of both sides to further strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation and to foster a favorable environment for future partnerships.

Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce & Investment (ACCI), led a business delegation to Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Exhibition, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The exhibition brought together the chairmen and deputy chairmen of the chambers of commerce from the SCO member states and was officially inaugurated by Mr. Daniyar Amangeldiev, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi held meetings with senior officials, including the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Deputy Head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The delegation also included Mr. Mirajan Sulaiman Khail, Mr. Faiz Ahmad Khawafi, and Mr. Enayatullah Sediqzai, Deputy Chairmen of the ACCI Board of Directors; Mr. Najabat Haidari and Mr. Sakhi Ahmad Noorzad, Members of the ACCI Board of Directors; and Mr. Azizullah Amin, Member of the Board of Directors of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
During the visit, the Chairman of ACCI, accompanied by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, toured various sections of the exhibition. Both sides emphasized expanding trade and economic relations, strengthening joint cooperation, increasing the volume of trade, enhancing private sector collaboration between Afghanistan and the SCO member states, and creating new opportunities for investment and trade.

Mr. Alhaj Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), met with Mrs. Hou Huafan, Head of UNESCO’s Education Section, along with her accompanying delegation, at the ACCI headquarters.
 
At the outset, Mrs. Hou Huafan briefed the meeting on various UNESCO vocational projects in Afghanistan, particularly those aligned with the needs of the private sector market. She requested the cooperation of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment in the implementation of these projects.
Mrs. Huafan pledged that following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between UNESCO and the Chamber, both sides would work jointly on technical matters, taking shared priorities into consideration.
Mr. Hashemi welcomed Mrs. Huafan and her delegation and expressed appreciation for UNESCO’s programs in Afghanistan. He presented specific proposals related to vocational training and job creation for needy citizens, especially women.
The Chairman of the Chamber added that there are numerous opportunities for women in both urban and rural areas, and that with UNESCO’s support, these initiatives could help economically empower vulnerable families. He specifically highlighted support for women in handicrafts, carpet weaving, mandatory literacy education for program participants, and the promotion of small and medium enterprises for women.
Mr. Hashemi emphasized the need for closer coordination between UNESCO and the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment to ensure transparent and successful implementation of these programs, and assured full cooperation of the Chamber in this regard.

Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) met with Mr. Jeffrey Grieco, Chairman of the Afghanistan-American Joint Chamber of Commerce (AACC) at the ACCI Headquarters.
 
At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Hashemi welcomed Mr. Grieco and emphasized the importance of expanding economic and trade cooperation between the private sectors of Afghanistan and the United States. He called for closer collaboration between the Afghanistan-American Joint Chamber of Commerce and Afghanistan's private sector.
During the meeting, the ACCI Chairman stressed the importance of establishing direct links between the American and Afghan private sectors, introducing Afghanistan's investment opportunities to American investors and Afghan-Americans residing in the United States, strengthening bilateral trade, and creating greater opportunities for the export of Afghan products to the U.S. market and other international markets.
He also highlighted the importance of fostering direct connections between companies, traders, and investors from both countries, promoting cooperation in technology transfer, management expertise, and successful business practices, as well as supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Furthermore, he emphasized the need for the release of Afghanistan's frozen assets, which belong to the Afghan people, and called for cooperation and support in this regard.
In response, Mr. Jeffrey Grieco expressed the full readiness of the Afghanistan-American Joint Chamber of Commerce to cooperate closely with ACCI and stated that a number of American companies are interested in investing in Afghanistan's mining sector. He described ACCI's role in building business partnerships and facilitating connections between companies from the two countries as important and effective.
Mr. Grieco also noted that a large delegation of American traders and investors is expected to participate in an upcoming economic event in Uzbekistan. He invited the Chairman of ACCI to meet with the delegation and present Afghanistan's investment opportunities and prospects for economic cooperation.

Mr. Alhaj Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), met with Mr. Scott Smith, Head of the Political Affairs Section of UNAMA, and Mr. Carol, responsible for UNAMA’s economic relations, at the ACCI main office. They discussed the current situation of the private sector and investment opportunities in Afghanistan.

Mr. Smith assured ACCI of UNAMA’s full support for the private sector, particularly in assisting small and medium-sized enterprises. He also requested Mr. Hashemi to share ACCI’s latest achievements regarding the reopening of trade routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as alternative routes developed over the past few months, so that necessary measures could be taken in coordination with international organizations.

Mr. Hashemi provided detailed information about recent online meetings held at the request of UNAMA, between the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, aimed at reopening trade routes. He emphasized that the closure of the routes by Pakistan has negatively affected the economies and private sectors of both countries. He further stressed that despite banking sanctions and the lack of transit facilities, Afghanistan’s private sector has managed to continue trade with regional countries through alternative routes, and there has been no shortage of food commodities in Afghan markets.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Arian Zalgai Azimi, Deputy of Investment, Mr. Abdulzohoor Mudaber, ACCI Advisor, and Mr. Abdul Matin Ghalib, Head of the International Relations Department of the Executive Committee.

Mr. Alhaj Sayed Karim Hashemi, chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), met with Mr. Alhaj Ayamuddin Ayam, chairman of the Afghan-American Trade and Investment Council (AATIC), and Mr. Nader Atash, senior advisor of the Council, at the main office of the ACCI.

During the meeting, both sides held comprehensive discussions and exchanged views regarding the expansion of trade, strengthening economic cooperation and joint investments between Afghanistan and the United States, as well as attracting American and European companies to invest in Afghanistan. Existing opportunities in the sectors of trade, infrastructure, energy, services, and other economic fields were also reviewed.

Mr. Ayamuddin Ayam provided information about the activities of the Afghan-American Trade and Investment Council and emphasized the expansion of trade relations, attraction of investments, creation of new economic opportunities, and strengthening joint cooperation between Afghan traders and international investors. He described the role of the private sector as vital for the country’s economic growth and expressed the Council’s full readiness to cooperate in the areas of trade development, investment attraction, and joint economic activities.

Mr. Hashemi, while welcoming the chairman and senior advisor of AATIC, appreciated the Council’s activities and described them as important for the expansion of trade between Afghanistan and foreign countries, as well as for encouraging Afghan traders and investors residing in the United States and European countries to invest in Afghanistan.

The chairman of ACCI also spoke about the nationwide security situation in Afghanistan and the favorable investment opportunities available in the country. He assured the chamber’s full cooperation, in coordination with relevant government institutions, in supporting private sector activities and investments.

During the meeting, the Afghan-American Trade and Investment Council proposed the signing of a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment to establish a framework for economic cooperation, facilitate investment processes, and expand trade relations among Afghan, American, and European investors. The proposal was approved in principle by the chamber, and it was agreed that a final decision would be made after sharing the details and preparing the draft agreement.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope that such meetings would pave the way for greater economic cooperation and stronger trade relations in Afghanistan.
