Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), accompanied by the Chamber’s deputy chairmen, visited the International Industry and Mining Week Exhibition in Kabul.
During the visit, Mr. Ahmad Nabi Zada, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines (ACIM), welcomed Mr. Hashemi and his accompanying delegation and joined them in touring the exhibition booths representing various private sector companies. The two sides discussed strengthening cooperation between industrialists and investors and emphasized the importance of closer collaboration in supporting the country's economic development.
Mr. Hashemi described such exhibitions as an important platform for promoting domestic industries, accelerating economic growth, attracting investment, and showcasing Afghanistan’s locally manufactured products. He also stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines.
Furthermore, Mr. Hashemi commended the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines for its effective organization and management of the exhibition and expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Chamber’s leadership in successfully hosting the event.
Also accompanying the ACCI Chairman during the exhibition visit were Mr. Arian Zalgai Azimi, Deputy Chairman for Investment; Mr. Mirajan Sulaimankhil, Deputy Chairman for Policy and Government Relations; Mr. Faiz Ahmad Khawafi, Deputy Chairman for Provincial Affairs; and Mr. Abdul Nafi Barakzai, Deputy Chairman for Support of Domestic Production and Products.

In an effort to prevent any potential shortage of petroleum products in the country and ensure the continuous supply of gasoline, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to the Afghan market, a consultative meeting was held on Saturday, 4 July, under the chairmanship of Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI). The meeting, attended by ACCI deputy chairmen and a number of the country's leading fuel traders and importers, was held at the Chamber's headquarters.

The meeting was convened amid emerging challenges and supply constraints affecting petroleum products, particularly LPG, in several neighboring and regional countries. Recognizing the importance of safeguarding the domestic market, ACCI called on fuel traders and importers to demonstrate national responsibility by increasing imports of gasoline, diesel, and LPG and playing a more active role in meeting the country's energy needs.

Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi commended the efforts and services of Afghan traders during challenging times, emphasizing that the private sector has consistently stood alongside the Afghan people by ensuring the supply of essential commodities, particularly petroleum products. He noted that traders and investors, as key pillars of the national economy, have a responsibility to increase imports in order to prevent any shortage of fuel products in the domestic market.

The Chairman also stressed that, alongside increasing imports, maintaining the quality of petroleum products is of critical importance. He urged traders to import gasoline, diesel, and LPG that meet the required standards and to prevent the entry of substandard fuel into the Afghan market.

The meeting also reviewed the challenges faced by fuel importers. Participants discussed issues including administrative and customs procedures, obstacles along import routes, ensuring the regular supply of petroleum products to the market, and the need for closer coordination between the private sector and the relevant institutions of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

ACCI reaffirmed that it would formally present the concerns and recommendations of fuel importers to the relevant authorities of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, with the aim of facilitating imports, improving market regulation, meeting public demand, and preventing fuel shortages in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.

In addition, a number of Afghanistan's leading fuel traders and owners of major companies operating in the sector, from various provinces and abroad, participated in the meeting virtually. They shared their views and recommendations with the Chamber's leadership regarding increasing imports, maintaining market stability, and improving fuel quality.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of close cooperation among ACCI, fuel importers, and the relevant authorities of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. It was also agreed to establish a joint and structured coordination mechanism to prevent any potential fuel crisis, facilitate the import of gasoline, diesel, and LPG, prevent the distribution of substandard petroleum products, and effectively address the challenges faced by fuel traders.

Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), chaired a meeting with the Executive Management and staff of the Chamber's Central Office. The meeting was attended by Mr. Arian Zalgai Azimi, Deputy for Investment; Mr. Faiz Ahmad Khawafi, Deputy for Provincial Affairs; Mr. Mirajan Sulaimankhil, Deputy for Policy and Government Relations; and Mr. Abdul Nafi Barakzai, Deputy for Support of Domestic Production and Products. The meeting was held at the ACCI conference hall, where the Chairman met with the Executive Management deputies and all Central Office staff, emphasizing the importance of improving the quality and efficiency of their work.
Mr. Hashemi stated that the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment is the home of the country's private sector, where everyone from leading business leaders to small local shopkeepers is valued and respected. He stressed that every member of the institution, from the owner to the most junior employee, shares the responsibility of serving the private sector with integrity, professionalism, and dedication.
During the meeting, while expressing appreciation for the commitment and performance of the Chamber's employees, the ACCI Chairman instructed the relevant departments to establish a distinguished honorary medal in recognition of the invaluable contributions of the late Mr. Abdul Majid Khan Zabuli, the founder of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment. He noted that this initiative would serve as a modest tribute to one of the most visionary figures in the history of Afghanistan's private sector.
Addressing the staff, the chairman further emphasized that in order to ensure the smooth continuation of daily operations, any employee requiring financial or moral support would receive the Chamber's full and responsible assistance.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Zainullah Hasani, Acting Chief Executive and Deputy for Finance and Administration of ACCI, assured the chairman that the Chamber's activities and institutional performance continue to progress steadily and effectively.

Mr. Mirwais Waziri Katawazi Mr. Abdul Qasim Omarkhil and Mr. Habibullah Habibi, Members of the Board of Directors of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), participated in the opening ceremony of the 5th National and International Industry and Mining Week Exhibition and toured the exhibition booths.
The exhibition, held at the Afghanistan International Exhibition Center in Kabul, will continue for one week. A wide range of Afghan companies are showcasing their domestically produced goods, including metals, mineral products, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, detergents, food products, and various other locally manufactured products.
