ACCI’s Chairman Mr. Tawakal Ahmadyar, ACCI’s Investment Deputy to the Board of Directors Mr. Sultan Muhammad Safi, ACCI’s Financial President to the Board of Directors Mr. Sherin Agha Sakhi, ACCI’s International Relation’s President to the Board of Directors Mr. Sayed Jawid Burhan, Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Shafiqullah Atayee, Mr. Khan Jan Alokozay and Mr. Ahmad Zia Azimi Shenozada members to the Board of Directors meets with the American General Council of the economic affairs to Afghanistan Mr. Patrick Horney and discuss ways of overcoming the existing problems and means of developing the economy of the country under the auspices of U.S.A.
Mr. Ahmadyar said, “Politics and diplomatic relations should not impact trade negatively. In the current unstable political context, we have to prioritize promoting trade with the neighboring countries because it not only develops the country's economy but also satisfies the basic needs of people.”
He also said, “We strongly appreciate the constant support of the International community which has enabled the Private Sector and the people in general, to continue working for a better future in a safe and secure environment.”
Mr. Alokozay said, “Afghan traders have paid 7 million rupees to Pakistani government as a detention. Pakistan has unfortunately politicized our trade which has always rendered numerous problems. A very good alternative to all these issues is the Chabahar port but the United States of America has to remove sanctions imposed on this port.”
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Horney promised to work closely with the ACCI on economic and commercial projects in order to eradicate the existing problems and develop the economy of the country.
