In an event organized for the financial support of Afghanistan in Switzerland, more than 60 donor country’s and international organization’s representatives including ACCI’s CEO Mr. Sayed Zaman Hashimi attended it and had a sound discussion about the economic growth of Afghanistan.
Mr. Hashimi said, “From one hand the existing corruption in the customs and fatal Covid-19 virus prevents the economy of the country to be stable, but from the other hand Chabahar port and Lapis Lazuli commercial way can play an important role in the economic development of Afghanistan.”
He, furthermore, said that ACCI has been struggling to provide the required facilities for the private sector and to strengthen the economy of the country Moreover, the government and international community’s support can enable the private sector to provide the required facilities in imports and exports of the country.
He added that the Central Bank should play a significant role to overcome challenges of access to financial resources.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Hashimi suggested that for the private sector to be more useful and active, a strong coordination with the government is required and the private sector’s participation and views should be considered in high economic councils.
