Mr. Tawakal Ahmadyar Director General Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment welcomed and appreciated all participants of videos conference and request upon all traders and private sector members across the country to discuss the challenges and to present their solution plans regarding the exporting process of the country, which is seriously fighting against the Coronavirus.
Then, Mr. Abdul Karim Malikyar, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry, thanked ACCI for initiating such virtual conference and appreciated the private sector to share their views and ideas coherently for improving the exporting process of the country and called it an important step in the current situation. He reminded on cooperation and coordination between ACCI and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, especially in the current situation, and assured for the continuation of this cooperation.
In continue, Noor Halim Hakimyar, Director of Harakat organization, talked about their activities and supporting programs in particular to ACCI in supporting domestic products and exporting process after year 2008.
Information on the air corridors process and export mechanisms and chamber’s efforts in reoperation of exports process through air corridors and various ports, including Chabahar, provided to the participants of video conference by the Export Development and Investment Department.
In the second part of the video conference, the directors and top members of provincial chambers from Kandahar, Herat, Balkh, Nangarhar, Paktika and a number of traders from Farah and Paktia provinces, as well as heads of fresh fruit unions and associations, Carpet (Qalin), Afghan saffron and exporters from different countries talked about the existing problems and challenges and expressed their proposed plans to meet these problems.
Sayed Zaman Hashimi Chief Executive Officer ACCI stated, that the aim of this virtual conference was to find appropriate solutions to the problems and challenges facing export process of Afghanistan. He also requested from relevant Afghan government officials to put more attention and provide cooperation to address these challenges. Besides presenting a brief report on the country's exports over the past years, he said that the most important need of Afghanistan is to have fast and timely access to exports. He also noted the ACCI recent achievements in removing obstacles regard the country export process.
