Mr. Ali Bilal, a well-known Afghan athlete and runner-up in the bodybuilding category at the Mr. Olympia competition, met with the Chamber’s leadership at the main office of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment in Kabul. During the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of supporting sports and the country’s accomplished athletes, the role of successful personalities in inspiring the younger generation, and the use of their international platforms to promote Afghanistan.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mujib-ul-Rahman Shirzad, Deputy of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment for Strategic Relations; Mr. Mohammad Jebran Mudassir, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber; and a number of young and active Afghan businesspeople.
Welcoming Ali Bilal, Mr. Mujib-ul-Rahman Shirzad praised his valuable achievements in international bodybuilding competitions and his efforts to raise Afghanistan’s profile on the international stage. He described the athlete’s accomplishments as a source of pride for the Afghan people and emphasized the importance of supporting sporting talents and creating suitable opportunities for the growth and development of the country’s youth.
Similarly, Mr. Mohammad Jebran Mudassir, Chief Executive Officer of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, commended Ali Bilal’s remarkable achievements in international sports, describing him as one of the country’s distinguished athletes and an inspiring role model for Afghan youth. He expressed hope that the achievements of such individuals would help strengthen hope, self-confidence, and a spirit of determination among the younger generation.
The meeting also included discussions on the role of successful athletes in showcasing Afghanistan’s potential and achievements internationally, as well as the importance of cooperation among the private sector, social institutions, and national figures in supporting sports programs and public-benefit initiatives.
Mr. Ali Bilal expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality of the ACCI leadership and appreciated the Chamber’s attention to athletes, as well as its charitable and humanitarian initiatives. He emphasized that Afghanistan has always held a special place in his heart and that he considers himself an inseparable part of its people and homeland.
He further stated his readiness to use his sporting profile and international connections, in coordination with ACCI and the country’s private sector, to promote Afghanistan’s potential and opportunities, attract international cooperation, and support initiatives that benefit the Afghan people.
During another part of the meeting, ACCI’s initiative to establish a specialized hospital for the treatment of cancer patients was also discussed. Ali Bilal welcomed this humanitarian initiative and expressed his readiness to cooperate in mobilizing financial support and assistance for the realization of the project.
At the conclusion of the meeting, in recognition of Ali Bilal’s valuable sporting achievements and his role in promoting Afghanistan’s name in international competitions, a certificate of appreciation adorned with Afghan precious stones was presented to him by Mr. Mujib-ul-Rahman Shirzad and Mr. Mohammad Jebran Mudassir on behalf of the ACCI leadership.
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment values the efforts and achievements of the country’s athletes and considers supporting young talents and strengthening cooperation between the private sector and distinguished national figures important ways to contribute to social development, foster hope, and promote Afghanistan positively on the international stage.
