The international program “After Harvest. AgroSeason 2026” was held on 8 October 2026 in the city of Kostanay, Kazakhstan, with the participation of the heads of 10 Afghan companies, The delegation was led by Mr. Alhaj Wahidullah Azizi Member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Food Committee of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, The program included an exhibition of agricultural machinery and products, as well as direct business-to-business (B2B) negotiations between companies from the two countries.
The Afghan trade delegation included major importers of agricultural products, particularly from Herat Province, as well as from Kabul, Kandahar and Mazar-i-Sharif; Herat Province holds an important position in expanding agricultural and trade cooperation between the two sides and is regarded as one of Kostanay Region’s key partners in the agricultural sector.
The primary objective of the visit was to establish and strengthen direct trade relations between Kazakhstani wheat and flour producers and Afghan buyers, while creating opportunities to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the program, five trade contracts with a total value of USD 55 million were signed, These contracts cover the supply of wheat and other agricultural products worth USD 40 million, and the supply of flour worth USD 15 million.
The visit was conducted within the framework of implementing the roadmap aimed at increasing trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan to USD 3 billion, as well as following up on intergovernmental agreements reached during the visit of a Kazakhstani government delegation to Kabul in June 2026. These agreements were also related to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the administration of Herat Province.
Organizing such programs helps establish direct links between Kazakhstani producers and Afghan buyers, creating new opportunities to develop bilateral trade, increase exports and imports of agricultural products, and expand joint investment between the two countries.
