Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) and the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines (ACIM) aimed at facilitating and creating the necessary conditions for the establishment of a joint-stock company, a joint working committee between the two chambers was formed, and the committee held its first meeting today (Wednesday) at the headquarters of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines, with the participation of the technical and working members of the joint committee.
During the meeting, the “Roadmap and Implementation Procedure for Facilitating the Establishment of a Joint-Stock Company through the Joint Cooperation of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines” was discussed and reviewed. The participants exchanged views on developing a practical, transparent, and organized mechanism for identifying investment opportunities, attracting investors, establishing and registering joint-stock companies, and supporting joint private-sector activities.
The technical members of the committee were also tasked with finalizing the roadmap and implementation procedure in accordance with the provisions of the MoU and the relevant legal frameworks, and with creating the necessary conditions for launching the practical phase of the joint-stock company establishment process.
The Chairman of the Boards of Directors of both chambers emphasized the importance of close cooperation and coordination between the two institutions, utilizing the capacities of the private sector, encouraging joint investments, and creating new opportunities for the expansion of economic activities. They also provided the necessary guidance in this regard.
The formation of this joint working committee represents another practical step toward implementing the provisions of the MoU between the two chambers and establishing an organized framework to facilitate investment and commercial and industrial partnerships in the country.
