The “Sarfraz Jewelry” gold and jewelry retail center was officially inaugurated today at the Gulbahar Center Jewelry Market in Kabul. Mr. Enayatullah Sediqzai, Deputy for Services, Mr. Mujib-ul-Rahman Shirzad, Deputy for Strategic Affairs of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), and Mr. Hewad Baz, Member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, attended the ceremony.
The event was held in the presence of representatives and leadership of other chambers and private sector institutions, the Jewelers’ Union, the Money Changers’ Union, and a number of private sector stakeholders and representatives from across the country.
The Chamber’s Deputy for Strategic Affairs welcomed the investment made by the Sarfraz Group of Companies in the gold and jewelry sector, describing the initiative as a positive step toward strengthening domestic production, expanding gold processing and jewelry manufacturing within the country, and reducing reliance on imported foreign jewelry.
Referring to the country’s mineral resources and potential, particularly in the gold sector, Mr. Shirzad stated that the jewelry and gold sector is one of the important economic and commercial sectors of the country, providing employment opportunities for thousands of citizens and generating a significant volume of trade annually.
Mr. Shirzad also described Sarfraz Jewelry’s future plans to process gold and manufacture jewelry domestically as a positive and effective step toward creating added value, developing domestic industries, and strengthening the production chain within the sector.
He further congratulated the owners and management of the Sarfraz companies, the Jewelers’ Union, and all private sector stakeholders on the launch of this investment. He emphasized that the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment is the common home of all traders and investors in the country and is ready to provide cooperation and services in all areas to support, facilitate, and promote private sector activities.
At the conclusion, the management and employees of “Sarfraz Jewelry” were wished greater success and progress in expanding their commercial and investment activities.
