As part of the continued establishment and activities of specialized committees for various sectors, the Specialized Committee for Carpet and Handicrafts of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) was established during a meeting held at the Chamber’s headquarters, where the chairperson and members of the committee were introduced.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Enayatullah Sediqzai, Deputy for Services of the Chamber, and Mr. Mujib-ul-Rahman Shirzad, Deputy for Strategic Relations of the Chamber, with the participation of the Chairman and members of the Afghanistan Carpet Producers and Exporters Union, as well as members of the committee.
The Chamber’s deputies, highlighting the important role of Afghan carpets in the country’s economy and exports, called on the chairperson and members of the committee to develop practical programs and effective solutions, with a focus on production, carpet weaving, marketing, export development, and access to international markets. They also emphasized the importance of coordination and unity among carpet artisans, producers, and exporters, as well as the regular organization of meetings and field activities.
During the meeting, Mr. Ghulam Sakhi Turkman, Chairperson of the Specialized Committee for Carpet and Handicrafts, expressed his appreciation for the confidence placed in him by the Chamber’s leadership and pledged to work, in cooperation with committee members and the Carpet Producers and Exporters Union, to strengthen production and carpet weaving, increase exports, expand international marketing, and address the challenges facing the sector.
At the conclusion, emphasis was placed on launching the committee’s practical activities and maintaining continued cooperation among the Chamber, carpet industry stakeholders, and relevant institutions.
