ACCI Chairman Meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan

Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), met with Mr. Oybek Usmanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan, at the ACCI main office.
The meeting, attended by Mr. Arian Zalgai Azimi, Deputy Chairman for Investment, and Mr. Mujib Rahman Shirzad, Deputy Chairman for Strategic Relations, focused on the upcoming visit of a high-level Government of Uzbekistan delegation led by the country's Deputy Prime Minister. The delegation, comprising more than 300 traders and investors from Tashkent City and Fergana Province, is scheduled to visit Afghanistan to expand bilateral trade and economic relations.
Ambassador Usmanov described the visit of the Uzbek government delegation, which is taking place at the invitation of the Government of Afghanistan and the country's private sector, as a unique opportunity to strengthen bilateral trade cooperation and facilitate commercial and transit activities between the two countries. He also expressed appreciation for the effective cooperation of the leadership of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment in organizing and supporting this initiative.
During the meeting, Mr. Hashemi highlighted the achievements of the trade visits and joint meetings held over the past year, describing them as highly effective in expanding trade relations and promoting joint investment between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. He reaffirmed that ACCI is fully prepared to contribute to this process by ensuring successful hosting and organization of the upcoming Business-to-Business (B2B) Meeting, scheduled to be held in Kabul on 26 July 2026.
Mr. Hashemi expressed hope that the B2B Meeting would lead to the signing of major commercial agreements and the expansion of joint investments across various sectors of the economy.
