In an effort to further enhance the performance and effectiveness of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), a consultative meeting was held under the leadership of Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of ACCI. The meeting was attended by the Chamber's Deputy Chairmen, Mr. Arian Zalgai Azimi, Mr. Mirajan Sulaimankhil, Mr. Enayatullah Sediqzai, Mr. Abdul Nafi Barkzai, and Mr. Mujib-ur-Rahman Shirzad, as well as the Chamber's advisors: Mr. Azarakhsh Hafizi, Mr. Khan Jan Alokozai, Mr. Sayed Parwiz Hofiani, Mr. Ahmad Zia Achakzai, Mr. Abdul Zohour Modaber, Mr. Amanullah Ghalib, Dr. Khesraw Zia, and Mr. Zarbat Khan Stanikzai.
At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Hashemi welcomed the participants and underscored the strategic importance of the advisors' professional expertise, the need to strengthen strategic coordination among the Chamber's leadership, and the importance of adopting effective decisions in support of private sector development. He noted that drawing upon the experience and recommendations of the Chamber's advisors plays a vital role in formulating strategic plans, implementing economic policies, and achieving the Chamber's long-term objectives.
The participants then discussed several key strategic issues, including enhancing the Chamber's services, advancing long-term development programs, and improving internal procedures. During the discussions, the advisors and members of the Board of Directors presented professional recommendations and practical proposals, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ACCI's role as the representative voice of Afghanistan's private sector, expanding national and international cooperation, removing legal and administrative barriers, and creating enabling mechanisms for businesses and investors.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of implementing strategic plans, expanding multilateral cooperation, strengthening engagement with both public and private sector institutions, and holding regular consultative meetings to assess challenges and develop practical solutions. Participants agreed that the ultimate objective is to foster a more conducive business environment, attract both domestic and foreign investment, and enhance Afghanistan's economic competitiveness.
During the meeting, Mr. Hashemi proposed that, in recognition of the outstanding contributions and historic legacy of Abdul Majid Khan Zabuli, the founder of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the country's private sector recommend him for the High State Medal of Honor. The proposal was approved by the majority of participants and was referred for the completion of the necessary legal procedures.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Hashemi expressed his appreciation for the active participation and valuable recommendations of the Chamber's advisors and emphasized the importance of continuing regular consultative meetings to strengthen institutional cohesion, enhance decision-making, and advance the Chamber's strategic objectives.
Also in attendance were ACCI Board members Mr. Abu Ubaidullah Hotak, Mr. Khalid Majid, Mr. Hamidullah Habibi, Mr. Matiullah Gardizi, Mr. Sakhi Ahmad Noorzad, and Mr. Hewad Baz.
The meeting concluded with prayers for lasting peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the people of Afghanistan.
