ACCI Appoints Deputy Chairman for Strategic Relations to Strengthen Trade and Investment Activities

The Executive Committee of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), during an extraordinary meeting, discussed a number of challenges facing the private sector, including the need to establish the position of Deputy Chairman for Strategic Relations within the ACCI Board of Directors to strengthen and expand the Chamber's strategic affairs.
Following comprehensive discussions, Mr. Mujib-ur-Rahman Shirzad was appointed as Deputy Chairman for Strategic Relations and simultaneously as a Member of the ACCI Board of Directors.
In a separate ceremony held at the ACCI Headquarters Conference Hall, attended by Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of ACCI; Mr. Mirajan Sulaimankhail, Deputy Chairman for Policy and Government Relations; Mr. Habibullah Omar, Deputy Chairman for Social and Cultural Affairs; Mr. Enayatullah Sediqzai, Deputy Chairman for Services; Mr. Abdul Nafi Barakzai, Deputy Chairman for Support of Domestic Production and Products; Mr. Zabihullah Omarkhail, Secretary of the Board of Directors; Mr. Yahya Pashtoon, Member of the Board of Directors; Mr. Zainullah Hasani, Deputy Director of Finance and Administration and Acting Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Ahmad Shakeel Hazim, Deputy Director for Policy and Technical Affairs of the Executive Office; and a number of ACCI staff members, Mr. Shirzad was formally introduced to the Chamber's employees in his new capacity.
During the ceremony, Mr. Hashemi congratulated Mr. Shirzad on his appointment as Deputy Chairman for Strategic Relations and stated that establishing the position is an important step toward enhancing the Chamber's institutional capacity, improving strategic coordination, and strengthening its overall performance.
In his remarks, Mr. Shirzad expressed his sincere appreciation to the ACCI leadership for their confidence in appointing him to the position. He pledged to dedicate his efforts to strengthening the Chamber's role and standing at both the regional and international levels and called for the continued cooperation and support of the Chamber's leadership in achieving these objectives.
It is noteworthy that, in addition to being one of Afghanistan's prominent national businessmen, Mr. Mujib-ur-Rahman Shirzad possesses a strong academic and professional background. He holds three master's degrees, has earned professional business certificates from the United States, and brings more than 20 years of professional experience, having served in a number of senior leadership positions, including at the deputy minister level.
