Mr. Arian Zalgai Azimi, Deputy Chairman for Investment of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), led a delegation comprising Mr. Abdullah Rahimi, Member of the ACCI Board of Directors, Mr. Faridoon Hashemi, one of Afghanistan's prominent businessmen, and a number of leading private sector representatives, to participate in the 23rd Qingdao International Machine Tool Exhibition in Qingdao, China.
During the visit to various exhibition halls, Mr. Azimi held discussions with manufacturers and suppliers of advanced industrial technologies, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation to modernize Afghanistan's manufacturing and industrial infrastructure.
In his keynote address at the opening ceremony, Mr. Azimi expressed his appreciation to the Chinese authorities for their warm hospitality and described international exhibitions of this nature as vital platforms for strengthening economic partnerships and promoting sustainable development among nations.
Highlighting Afghanistan's evolving economic landscape, he stated that the country has entered a new phase of constructive engagement with the international community. Referring to Afghanistan's strategic geopolitical location, he described the country as a regional gateway connecting the major markets of South, Central, and East Asia, offering exceptional opportunities for transit, trade, and large-scale investment.
Mr. Azimi further noted that expanding regional economic cooperation is essential for achieving lasting stability, shared prosperity, and sustainable employment. He emphasized that the private sector has a critical role to play, adding that the mission of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment extends beyond facilitating trade to creating economic value, supporting innovation, and contributing to a future built on peace and shared prosperity.
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Azimi reaffirmed the ACCI's full commitment to facilitating the activities of international companies seeking to invest in Afghanistan. He highlighted the Chamber's readiness to provide services including identifying reliable business partners, organizing business-to-business (B2B) meetings, and introducing investment opportunities across various sectors of the Afghan economy.
