Mr. Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), Mr. Medirbek Tumanov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides explored new opportunities to increase the volume of trade between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan and emphasized the importance of identifying sectors with strong potential for joint cooperation. They also exchanged views on expanding economic relations between the private sectors of the two countries and discussed issues related to trade facilitation, transportation and transit of goods, the issuance of business visas, and the removal of existing barriers to trade.
Mr. Hashemi stressed the importance of strengthening economic relations between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, noting that Afghanistan's strategic geographic location enables it to serve as a key link between the markets of Central and South Asia. He also called for enhanced cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, industry, and joint economic projects.
Mr. Medirbek Tumanov welcomed the expansion of economic cooperation with Afghanistan and reaffirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic to support increased bilateral trade and provide the necessary facilities for traders and investors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the continuation of bilateral dialogue, the strengthening of cooperation between economic and trade institutions, and the adoption of practical measures to further expand economic and commercial relations between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan. The meeting reflected the strong commitment of both countries to enhancing bilateral trade and economic ties and creating a solid foundation for future cooperation.
