Mr. Alhaj Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), held an online meeting with Mr. Dmitry Antonov, Head of the Trade Committee Council of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Alexander, Senior Representative of the Investment and Industry Department of the said Chamber. The meeting aimed at expanding economic cooperation, exchanging views and commercial experiences, and attracting joint investments between traders of both countries.
Mr. Hashemi discussed the current state of trade relations between Afghanistan and the Russian Federation, investment opportunities, facilitation of export and import processes, establishment of joint cooperation between the private sectors, and the role of chambers of commerce in developing economic relations between the two countries. He called for comprehensive cooperation from the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, particularly in introducing major specialized petroleum companies for the construction of oil refineries in Afghanistan, introducing large Russian petroleum factories to Afghan traders, and establishing a major joint-stock dried fruit company between Afghan and Russian traders in Moscow.
He assured full cooperation of the Chamber in increasing trade transactions and organizing exhibitions and business meetings between the private sectors of both countries.
Mr. Dmitry and Mr. Alexander welcomed the development of economic relations with Afghanistan and expressed their readiness to invest in various sectors, especially agriculture, chemical fertilizer production, and the petroleum sector in Afghanistan. They also emphasized bilateral cooperation, exchange of trade delegations, organization of joint exhibitions, and establishing direct links between traders of both countries.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mirajan Sulemankhil, Deputy Policy Director of the Chamber; Mr. Mohammad Wali Amini, CEO of the Chamber and Mr. Nikolai, Economic Officer of the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
