Mr. Al-Haj Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, in the presence of Al-Haj Habibullah Omar, Deputy for Social and Cultural Affairs of the Chamber, and Al-Haj Yousuf Yousufi, Member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, met and held talks with His Mr. Dr. Saadi Sharifi, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kabul, at the Office of the Chairman of the Chamber.
During the meeting, both sides discussed and exchanged views on expanding economic and commercial cooperation between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
Mr. Hashemi described Tajikistan as a good friend of Afghanistan with shared cultural ties, and emphasized further development of trade relations, the establishment of a joint Afghan–Tajik Chamber of Commerce, and facilitation of the Tajik visa issuance process for Afghan traders. He also called on the Ambassador of Tajikistan to make greater efforts toward organizing joint trade meetings between businesspeople of the two countries and creating a friendly commercial environment between Afghan and Tajik investors.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan, while expressing appreciation for the warm hospitality of the President of the Chamber, assured his readiness to improve trade relations and to create a suitable environment for traders of both countries to exchange commercial views and engage in joint investments.
