The 67th executive committee meeting of SAARC CCI was held on 23 September 2016 at the ITC Maratha Hotel, Mumbai, India which was presided by Mr. Suraj Vaidya, President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The meeting was attended by Snr. Vice President (VP), SAARC CCI, Vice Presidents of SAARC CCI, Executive Committee Members of SAARC CCI, General Assembly Members of SAARC CCI, Chairmen and Members of SAARC CCI Working Group/Committees, In-charges of SAARC Desks and the office of H. E Secretary General, SAARC Secretariat. From SAARC CCI (Afghanistan chapter) Mr. Jalalluddin Saeed acting VP SAARC CCI, Mr. Etibar Khan Zadran EC member, Mr. Mujahedullah Safi EC member and Mr. Ahmad Jahid Atal International Organization & MOU Manager and SAARC desk in-charge at Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) attended the meeting.
The agenda of the 67th Executive Committee (EC) was placed before the house for its review and approval and thereby the house approved in unanimous, the agenda for the 67th EC meeting.
Being as first item in agenda, the minutes of 66th executive committee meeting was reviewed and approved.
Similarly the 6th SAARC Business Leaders Conclave (SBLC) which is scheduled to be organized 4-6 November 2016
And to be addressed by the prominent socio-political figures, eminent scholars, economists, business and industry leaders, and would be attended by more than 500 business representatives from South Asia will gather in Lahore to discuss ways and means to deepen business relations within the region.
Moreover the other agenda items such as 19th SAARC Summit 9-10, 2016, life membership campaign, fund raising strategy for SAARC CCI secretariat Approval of SAARC membership applications were also discussed in this meeting, Where SAARC CCI (Afghanistan Chapter) reiterated its commitment for enhancing the number members from Afghanistan.
Furthermore Mr. Jalaluddin Saeed briefed the house over the work done by Afghanistan for implementing the idea of establishing SAARC industrial park in Afghanistan. He said: “back there in Afghanistan we have already discussed the establishment of SAARC industrial park with our senior authorities and fortunately they have endorsed our call and are ready to provide us with a land of our choice”.
President of SAARC CCI Mr. Suraj Vaidya, urged all the member states to increase the number of their members and also take active part in SAARC CCI’s upcoming events.
