Having 40 prominent Belarusian and 10 Afghan companies in attendance, 1st Afghan-Belarus Business Matchmaking Conference was held on 15, April 2016 in capital city of Belarus, Minsk. Afghan delegation, chaired by Mr. Alhaj Mohammad Ibrahim Zarif member of board of directors of ACCI, met with their Belarusian business peers and firms from various sectors.
At the outset, while welcoming the Afghan Business delegation, the Deputy BOD of Belarus Chamber of Commerce Mr. Vladimir Ulahovich, termed the visit as initial step toward commencing new business ties between the two countries. Moreover he expressed hope that the two chambers will closely collaborate in terms of organizing business meeting and exhibitions in near future.
Mr. Ibrahim Zarif extended his gratitude to Belarusian Authorities for facilitating their visit to the country and arranging such fruitful B2B meetings. He also added, considering the potential investment opportunities in Afghanistan and capabilities and experiments of Belarus, the two countries can have enormous joint ventures.
Subsequently, existing the business and investment opportunities in Belarus were discussed during a detailed presentation by Ms. Irina Remez, councilor of National Authority of investment and privatization of Belarus.
Afterward, Mr. Hashem Rasouli Director of International Affairs department of ACCI presented information about business environment and investment opportunities in Afghanistan, which was warmly welcomed by Business community of Belarus.
Afghan delegation and Belarusian firms were provided with the opportunity to discuss various economic issue with their peers during the sector to sector sessions.
At the end of the program, Afghan delegation visited the AMKODOR Company which is mainly producing constructional and agricultural machinery.
