Leadership of PAJCCI calls on Second vice President and Former President of I.R of Afghanistan

Leadership of Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industries together with Pakistani business delegation led by Mr. Zubair Motiwala, met with Excellency Sarwar Danish second vice president and Excellency Mr. Hamid Karzai former president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan during separate meetings on 13 January 2016.

The meetings were attended by leadership of PAJCCI and ACCI, Mr. Alhaj khanjan Alkozay Senior Vice Chairman of ACCI and BOD member of PAJCCI, Mr. Alhaj Mohammad Younus Momand commercial deputy of ACCI’s BOD, Mr. Baz Mohammad Afsarzai industrial deputy of ACCI’s BOD, Mr. Azaraksh Hafizi director of international committee of ACCI, representative from Pakistani embassy to Kabul and Prominent traders of the both countries.

During the meeting with second vice president, Mr. Alkozay voiced the firm support of the private sector from the Afghan led peace negotiations and urged the government to maintain the security across the country. Meanwhile Mr. Alkozay shed light on challenges faced by the traders of both countries particularly transit problems in the highways. He termed organized crimes, human trafficking, illegal extortions and lack of strong support of the government as main hindrance in economic ties.

Mr. Zubair Motiwala during his speech confirmed the existence of problems in both countries and asked better implementation of international agreements. Furthermore he added that lack of mutual trust between the two nations is one of the biggest challenges and urged the government to take concrete steps for tackleing the mentioned problems.

After hearing the detailed speech of Mr. Alkozay and Mr. Motiwala, Second Vice President of Afghanistan, warmly welcomed the leadership of PAJCCI and their accompanying delegation. While referring to cultural and historical ties he stated that no incident or faction can separate the two brotherly great nations.

Mr. Danish Emphasized that national and foreign policies of both countries should be economic-oriented in order to steadily implement the major regional project such as TAPI gas pipeline project and CASA 1000 project which are considered as core elements of economic development in the region.

Moreover he vowed to present the above mentioned problems in the High Economic Council (HEC) which is being held under the presidency of His Excellency Mohammad Ashraf Ghani the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Subsequently Mr. Hamid Karzai the former president of I.R of Afghanistan met with this delegation. During this meeting Mr. Alkozay briefed the former president about the activities and achievements of the joint chamber which was founded during his tenure. Meanwhile the leadership of PAJCCI invited Mr. Karzai to attend a business conference which is going to be held in the month of March 2016 in Dubai with the participation of Afghan and Pakistani traders and investors.

While welcoming the delegation Excellency Karzai called the traders peace-messengers whose roles were always bold in strengthening relations among the world countries during the history.

The Leadership of PAJCCI appreciated His Excellency Hamid Karzai for his all-out support from establishment of this joint chamber and presented him the appreciation letter of PAJCCI.
