The CEO of ACCI – Mr. Atiqullah Nusrat met with Siri Lankan ambassador to Afghanistan- Mr. Air Chief Marshal Gangan Bultsengala on Tuesday March 15 2017 at his Office.
While welcoming the ambassador, Mr. Atiqullah Nusrat pointed to economical capacities of Siri Lanka and mutual relation of the two countries adding that: “Sri Lanka is one of Afghanistan’s trade or business partners. Through SAARC chamber of commerce and industry, we have close collaborative relationships with Sri Lankan Federation of Chamber of Commerce and industries. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have joint economic interests; Sri Lankan goods and commodities are having good market in Afghanistan and vice versa.
Mr. Nusrat added that: “Afghanistan have put its attentions on air transit for the growth of trade and investment, we have good opportunities on imports and exports of good to India and to other countries additionally we are eager to work on establishment of trade relation with other countries, particularly Sri Lanka.”
For the development of trade relations between the two countries, joint Business match making conferences, exchange of private sector delegations and inauguration of joint exhibitions were requested by Atiqullah Nusrat to be held.
Thereinafter, Mr. Atiqullah Nusrat additionally added that: “we have singed cooperation agreement with more than 30 countries and are willing to have a memorandum of understanding with Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and industries so that we would have paved the way for the inauguration of upcoming programs as well as to establish the joint trade chamber between the two countries.”Afterwards, the Sri Lankan ambassador thanked the CEO of ACCI and conversed over business, economic and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka adding that: “for the sake of business and investment promotion, Sri Lankan government has shorten the visa issuance procedures.” He additionally asked the CEO of ACCI to have a tour to Sri Lanka and to attend at Sir Lankan investment and Trade Conference which is to be held in Colombo on May 2017.
